The aim of the School is to produce total Muslim personalities through the training of children’s spirits, intellect, feelings and bodily senses. Education at our school caters for the growth of students in all their spiritual, intellectual, imaginative, physical, scientific and linguistic aspects, both individually and collectively, motivating all these aspects towards goodness. The ultimate aim of Islamic education is the realization of complete submission to Allah on the level of the individual, the community and humanity at large.
Our School Ethos:
Uswatun Hasana Muslim Boarding School promotes an ethos of positive yet critical and non-confrontational dialogue within general society. We aim to educate our children to participate effectively and constructively within society from within a spiritual, Quranic and Prophetic perspective through the means of example, dialogue and positive communication. In particular, a dignified and measured response to all manner of situations is an essential part of the ethos taught at our school. The above are all aimed at improving and contributing to the society that we live in and to communicate the Dheen of Allah to all people through positive and constructive interaction.
Special Educational Needs:
School promotes the view that all children with special educational needs have a right to a broad and balanced curriculum that meets their respective individual needs. This accords fully with the spiritual and educational principles of Islam as taught in the school. In particular admission for children with a statement of Special Education Needs, are carefully and fairly considered. If the Head teacher and Governors feel that the child’s educational needs could be met without comprising on issues of space, overcrowding or available resources than the child is admitted into the school irrespective of the waiting list.
The admissions policy of School (Voluntary-Aided) gives importance to parents and pupils in the following order:
1. [A] Basic Practice of Islamic Faith
[b] Active Commitment to Islam
All applicants will be required to submit a written reference supporting their application from either the Imam of the local Mosque, a representative of a Muslim organization, or a recognized member of the Muslim community.
2. Social & welfare Needs

[e] Converts/reverts to Islam
4. Proximity to the school
5. Non-Muslims who, along with their parents, support the high moral values of the Islamic faith.
Applicants will be required to complete a set questionnaire form and points will be awarded by the school based on the answers given. The highest scoring applicants will be offered a place at the school.
NB: the Admissions Policy is subject to change at any time and without notice.
1. Finally a good school is the combination of many positive attributes; however, the attributes must be apportioned appropriately.
• A school may have the best teachers in the world, and yet without eager and capable students, the instruction can be wasted.
• A school may have the best students in the world, and yet without the resources with which to explore and challenge their Strong notions of the cosmos, much of their imaginative and practical education can remain unrealized.
• A school may have the best resources and facilities in the world, but without the ongoing and energetic commitment of the parents to the fullest education of their Kids, the resources will never be utilized optimally
Allah (SWT) said,
"March forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for the pious." (3:133)
The Prophet (SAW) said,
"Seize the opportunity of five before five (stop you): your youth before old age, your health before (terminal) sickness, your wealth before poverty, your leisure time before being occupied, and your life before your death."
If we were informed of a surefire, solid investment that was guaranteed to be highly profitable, would anyone not take advantage of such a golden opportunity, saying "I’m busy"? On the contrary, we see the people flocking to pursue the enjoyments and entertainment of this world, while ignoring the eternal and superior life of the Hereafter. The concept, to be discussed now, seizing opportunities while we can and to avoid extremism and an unbalanced understanding of the relationship of the dunya (this worldly life) and the akhira (the Hereafter). This imbalance is quite prevalent in the world today, especially amongst the Muslims, even though they should be more knowledgeable and aware of it than anyone else since they are in possession of the guidance of Allah. Then, what about the ones who do not possess such guidance?
Allah and His Prophet (saw) did not leave us to our own thoughts and desires on this matter. Surely, a Shariah which covers such intimate matters such as marriage, divorce and even the etiquettes of the bathroom would most certainly legislate on such matters as well. Why then the mass confusion amongst Muslims today regarding the balanced approach of Islam concerning the dunya to be the planted seeds which are to be harvested in the life after death (akhira)? It seems that with Muslims, we witness one of two extremes. Either, whoever pursues the dunya ends up leaving the akhira, or whoever pursues the akhira ends up leaving the dunya. Although, the latter are far outnumbered by the former who represent the majority of Muslims so heavily engrossed in the dunya. It is indeed quite rare to see someone truly leaving the dunya for the sake of the akhira.
KEEPING THE DUNYA IN OUR POCKET AND THE AKHIRA IN OUR HEART
It was reported that a man came to Abu Hazim Salamah bin Dinar (a prominent early scholar of Islam) and said, "I feel something that makes me sad. And that is, me loving the dunya so much." So Abu Hazim said, "Don’t grieve over loving the dunya, because that is natural. But, what we should be aware of is, that its love should not cause us to attain what Allah has prohibited us from and to not hold back anything of it that is loved by Allah. If we do that, our love toward the dunya would not harm us." (Abu Nu’aim, al-Hilyat al-Awliyaat, vol.3, p.244).
Hence, we take from the dunya what does not corrupt us in our striving for the akhira. And, we work for the akhira in a manner that would not stop the wheels of life in this world and if anyone does not observe such a balanced attitude towards this concept, such a person would be a loser both in this world, and in the Hereafter.
GAINING BOTH THE DUNYA AND THE AKHIRA
The balanced approach, would gain us the rewards of the dunya and the akhira, whereas if we strive for the dunya alone then we shall have no share in the akhira. Concerning this, Allah says,
"But of mankind there are some who say: ‘Our Lord! Give us (Your Bounties) in this world!’ and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter. And of them there are some who say: ‘Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!’" (s.2:200-201).
Furthermore, Allah states,
"Say: Who has forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which He has produced for His servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which He has provided) for sustenance? Say: They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) purely for them on the Day of Judgment," (s.7:32).
Lastly, Allah reminds us,
"But seek with (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of lawful enjoyment in this world; and do good as Allah has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allah likes not the mischievous," (s.28:77).
There is extremism on both sides, whether indulging in too much of the dunya and forgetting the akhira, which is the most frequent case of Muslims all over the world, or being only consumed by the matters of the akhira and neglecting the dunya (though this is a seldom occurrence). We must seize the opportunities of the Hereafter while we are establishing our lives here in this world.
SEIZE THEM WHILE YOU CAN
On the authority of Abu Huraira, the Prophet (saw) said:
"Lose no time to do good deeds before you are caught up by one of the seven calamities." Then by way of warning he recounted, "A starvation (due to poverty) which may impair your wisdom, or a prosperity (of wealth) which may mislead you, or an ailment which may damage your health, or an old age which may harm your senses, or a sudden death or the appearance of al-Dajjal (Antichrist). All these are bad events which may be awaited; or the Day of Resurrection, but this day is indeed very hard and bitter," (Tirmidhi, #93).
The Prophet of Mercy is repeatedly teaching us to utilize the bounties and resources that Allah has bestowed on us in this world, to cultivate such tools in order to capitalize on such opportunity to our benefit in the Hereafter. From this we learn that we should be grateful to Allah for His bounties and to recognize the importance of time and good health in the life of the Muslim. For, in the mind of the Muslim, time is a vehicle in the journey to help transport him/her to the akhira.
Life consists of the time we live in this world to worship Allah and to be steadfast on His religion. Allah says in the Qur’an, "By the declining day. Verily, man is in a state of loss; except those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to patience," (s.103:1-3).
Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet said, "There are two blessings which many people lose (unaware of their importance): (They are) health and free time for doing well," (Sahih al-Bukhari, vol.8, #421).
This is a statement of the Prophet (saw) illustrating that most people are ungrateful for the bounties of their Lord, underestimating their importance and undervaluing their possession.
LIFE IS A TEST
This life of this world is a test, full of trials and tribulations. Through these periods of hardship are periods of evaluation and purification by Allah, for the Muslims.
Concerning this Allah says,
"Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the Sovereignty, and He is able to do all things. Who has created death and life that He may try you, which of you is best in conduct, and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving," (s.67:1-2).
From this verse, we see that Allah demands the best work, not the most work. Moreover, life and death are but instruments of examination used by Allah to differentiate righteous people from the wrong-doing.
We see that the life of this world is full of trials and tribulations, but in the Hereafter there is no more examination. It is the moment of reward and honor for the believers and a moment of humiliation, disgrace and severe punishment for the disbelievers. Both shall be receive their rightful recompense for eternity.
Regarding this Allah says,
"On that day some faces shall turn bright and some faces shall turn dark (out of humiliation and disgrace); then as to those whose faces turn dark: Did you disbelieve after your believing? Taste therefore the chastisement because you disbelieved. And as to those whose faces turn bright, they shall be in Allah’s Mercy; in it they shall abide. These are the communications of Allah which we recite to you with Truth, and Allah does not desire any injustice to the creatures," (s.3:106-108).
Narrated Ibn Umar: Allah's Apostle said,
"When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, death will be brought and will be placed between the Fire and Paradise, and then it will be slaughtered, and a call will be made (that), ‘O people of Paradise, no more death! O people of the Fire, no more death!’ So the people of Paradise will have happiness added to their previous happiness, and the people of the Fire will have sorrow added to their previous sorrow," (Sahih al-Bukhari, vol.8, #556)
WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE
Is this not a golden opportunity to save ourselves from the Hellfire while we still have time to make the right decision? Hence, we should seize it while we still can – seize the day! We should seize the opportunities and blessings which Allah has bestowed upon us of life, good health and wealth, while we are still able to do so, and before we are questioned about them on the Day of Judgment. We should take heed of such reminders from Allah and His Messenger (saw) and act on their instructions and guidance to lead a balanced life which will make us victorious in this life and the hereafter.
وَمَكَرُواْ وَمَكَرَ اللّهُ وَاللّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ
And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah.
Jazak Allah Hairen and thank you very much for reading my thesis. If you want to help the Muslim ummah and make the Muslims as khairah Ummah, at least pass it on to some philanthropists who would serve and strive for the cause of Islam. As the Qur’an Says
Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity.
Allah azza wa jal reward you for your intentions too even if your intention is not materialized. Brothers and Sisters in Islam, please do some thing for your Islam, before you take a heavenly abode. I AM OPENED AND FREE FOR ANY DIALOGUE PERTAINS TO THIS THESIS AND READY TO HELP ANY ONE WHO TRIES TO IMPLEMENT THIS PROJECT IN ANY WHERE.

If these conditions are met, I am sure that the Islamic school's performance can be no less than that of any good school because all of the other elements of a good school are automatically present in an Islamic setting.
A Poll defined a good school in the following terms:
1. Teachers are interested in their work and in their students.
2. Teachers make classes interesting.
3. There is variety in the curriculum.
4. There is good discipline.
5. There is respect for authority.
6. There is a good student/teacher relationship.
7. There is a good student-to-student relationship.
8. There is good equipment.
9. There are small classes.
10. There is good administration.
We can see that with the exception of number eight (good equipment) which can vary from school to school, all of the elements of a good school are fully present in an Islamic school.
4. Where there is a will there is a way. Practical difficulties can be overcome if people are fully convinced and committed to the cause. A person who is determined to raise his children islamically and wants to see them succeed in life in the here and in the here after will not hesitate to make some sacrifice to achieve this goal.
